What do I need to start?
The only prerequisite to become an EFR instructor is that you are over 18 years old and that you are qualified in EFR Primary Care, Secondary Care and Care for Children, or have a qualifying certification form another First Aid Certification Agency, such as St. John's Ambulance the Red Cross, MFA, etc.

You will also need to complete the independent learning and relevant knowledge reviews before the class begins.
What will I do?
You will learn how to conduct the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Emergency First Response Secondary Care (first aid) courses. You will also learn to conduct the recommended Automated External Defibrillator (AED), emergency oxygen and conscious choking management skills.
How long will it take?
To become an EFR Instructor in Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid), and Care for Children will take two days. During that time you will learn the training and teaching philosophy of EFR. You will have the opportunity to gain teaching experience from a professional and knowledgeable Instructor Trainer who has been training First Aid and Emergency Response Instructors for many years.
If I have no previous experience in First Aid. Can I still become an EFR Instructor?
Yes you can. The duration of the Extended EFR Instructor Course is then 4 days. During the first two days you will complete the Standard EFR Course, learning everything on Primary & Secondary Care, and Care for Children on a Provider level. During the remaining two days, you will complete the EFR Instructor Course, as described above above.
